Townsville Magistrates Court Domestic Violence Upgrade is a refurbishment and extension to the existing courts complex buildings. The scope includes an additional courtroom tailored to dealing with Domestic Violence cases, meeting rooms and interview spaces, security screening lobby, chapel, as well as new administrative workspaces. The works also include an upgrade to the existing building services. The additions needed to be in keeping with the existing building’s distinctive architectural language. All additions to the exterior of the building comprise of floor to ceiling glazing to maximise light into the new entry lobby, and to not detract from the intricate concrete detailing.
