PROJECT ARCHITECT

Esther Chew joined Peddle Thorp in 2023 with over 15 years of experience in the architecture industry in both Australia and the UK. Specializing in public architecture, arts, and education projects, Esther emphasizes community engagement and stakeholder liaison. A strategic thinker, she excels at collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups, delivering contextual, generous, and collectively owned projects.

Esther has led award-winning architectural projects and spearheaded master plans for sports, community, and arts precincts in metropolitan cities and regional Australia. Recently, Esther has been working on the redevelopment of the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium in Townsville, concept design for an art centre in Cape York as well as master plan of a five-star resort in Cairns.

In 2023, Esther chaired the Jury for the Northern Territory AIA Architecture Awards and served as a juror for the 2022 Commercial Category (SA). Recognized as one of South Australia’s “40 Leaders Under 40” and an Emerging Architect, she actively contributes to academia, board roles, and ongoing professional mentorship. Appointed to the ODASA design review panel, Esther champions the principles of good design in all aspects of her work
