The Atherton Hospital redevelopment consists of three new buildings:
• A New Clinical Services Building (CSB)
• An Engineering Services Building
• Refurbishment works consisting of ward spaces for 28 additional beds

The design concept was developed to build on the visual language presenton the site, by recreating the details in a modern way. A prominent archway motif was identified in neighbouring buildings and was represented in the building’s design, predominantly on the Primary Health Centre building (due to be demolished), The JCU building’s front entrance, and in subtle elements of the Pioneer Building.
